Our Sources for Information Research and Consulting
Depending on the nature of your request, we may use one or more of the following primary and secondary sources:
- The Internet-certainly the most abundant source but requiring extensive filtering and search expertise and sometimes accessing of the hidden or "Invisible Internet", where much of the academic, governmental or factual data resides. This data is less accessible to the average Internet user and often requires a subscription or payment of a fee to retrieve it.
- Personal reference materials- an extensive library of general reference materials is at our disposal.
- Libraries-still an excellent source for printed materials, including trade journals, not available on the Internet. AMP Information Consulting has access to many large and prestigious collections.
- Phone or personal interviews-sometimes the best source is to simply ask the one who knows-a primary source. This is very pertinent for example, in product or vendor evaluations.
- In the case of business management consulting services, we will thoroughly research you business, both internally and externally, including comparing similar type businesses. We will apply industry standard management practices to our evaluations and recommendations.
- In the case of market research or "mystery" shopping, an on site visit to your own or a competetor's site will be conducted.
- In the case of proofreading assignments, we adhere to all current publishing standards.
